SUMMARY

Artera is looking for a talented, experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, growing engineering department. The position requires a developer experienced in InterSystems Technology CACHE, IRIS, ENSEMBLE and object-oriented programming. Experience in the Healthcare Industry is preferred.

You will work with the rest of the team to own, maintain, and grow your product in the code base.

This will include building and supporting existing APIs web facing APIs, automating interactions with partner APIs, and enhancing the core infrastructure that underlies our scheduled and realtime patient-provider communications capability.

In addition to being a strong engineer, you will have a keen interest in how software and modern communication channels can improve the patient experience. You will have world-class communication skills and empathy for your teammates. You will also be flexible and adaptable enough to thrive in a fluid startup environment

US Citizen and eligible to obtain a TS Security Clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement high availability and high throughput software systems using InterSystems products (Cache, Ensemble, IRIS)
  • Maintain existing products through enhancements and providing support to customer facing teams
  • Effectively collaborate internal groups (both technical and non-technical)
  • Participate in the design and implementation of interfaces to 3rd party providers using InterSystems products as well as REST
  • Create technical and support documentation for applications
  • Help produce release builds of software
  • Support beta installs of software
  • Work with the internal support department staff to provide ongoing support for products installed at client sites
  • Opportunity to work with frontend (React) if desired

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related field; or additional 10+ years of experience
  • Extensive experience working with InterSystems products (Cache, Ensemble, IRIS) – 15+ years preferred
  • Demonstrated software programming experience
  • Working knowledge of OOP & REST
  • Experience with web technologies ( React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS )
  • Experience in each aspect of the complete Software Project Life Cycle
  • Intermediate knowledge of Database Design and Data Modeling
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and make tradeoff decisions
  • Commitment to testing best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to be clear and articulate
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to deliver and receive code review feedback in a productive manner
  • Ability to have a strong understanding of how technology decisions have an impact on the customer
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Nice to have
    • Experience in healthcare
    • Experience at a SaaS company or with API products
    • Experience with US Government contracts

SALARY RANGE

Actual base salary will depend on experience, skills, education, geographic location, and/or internal equity.

$138,500 - $187,000
