We’re Hiring: VP of Growth at CUDDLY

CUDDLY is on a mission to make animal welfare sustainable—permanently. We’ve built a two-sided marketplace connecting 4,000+ animal shelters and rescues with 366,000+ donors, and we’re now entering our next phase of growth.

We’re looking for a VP of Growth to help restart and scale our growth engine.

This is not a “strategy-only” role. We want a hands-on operator—someone who knows how to build, test, and optimize acquisition channels, not just manage them.

The Opportunity

CUDDLY is at a true inflection point. You’ll own two critical growth levers:

New Revenue

  • Build and scale profitable donor acquisition channels
  • Optimize paid media strategy
  • Revive organic social as a revenue driver
  • Drive cross-sell into our pet food & product line

Recurring Revenue

  • Reactivate lapsed donors
  • Improve conversion from one-time to repeat donors
  • Grow subscription revenue
  • Own email + lifecycle marketing engine
What You’ll Own

Primary Focus: Core Fundraising Business

  • Donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation
  • Email and lifecycle marketing
  • Paid media + agency management
  • Organic social strategy
  • Donor → subscriber conversion

Secondary Focus: DTC & Retail CPG

  • Cross-sell into food/products
  • DTC growth strategy (with external partners)
  • Content strategy bridging mission + lifestyle brand
Who You Are

You’re a builder. When you walk into a business, your first move is to audit—not pitch ideas.

You think in:

  • CAC, LTV, payback periods
  • Cohort performance
  • Unit economics over vanity metrics

Must-Haves:

  • You’ve personally built and optimized growth channels
  • You’re data-fluent and execution-oriented
  • You can operate lean and move fast
  • You’re comfortable challenging leadership with data

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in marketplace, subscription, or mission-driven businesses
  • Background at a $5M–$50M company (or ready to step up)
  • Experience in turnaround or constrained environments
  • Strong lifecycle/email marketing expertise

This role won’t be a fit if you:

  • Default to tools/platforms before understanding the business
  • Pitch big-budget campaigns before proving fundamentals
  • Stay high-level and avoid execution
  • Need a large team before you can deliver
  • Come from big-company environments without constraint experience
Role Details
  • Title: VP of Growth
  • Reports to: COO
  • Comp: $180K base + 20% bonus + equity
  • Location: Grapevine, TX preferred (hybrid possible for the right candidate)
  • Team: 5 direct reports across marketing + design
