About the Role
Gravity is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. In this role, you will own payroll operations for our growing global workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless pay experience for employees across the U.S., Canada, and international contractor teams.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare, process, and review bi-monthly and monthly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees, as well as global contractors.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions in line with all applicable local, state/provincial, and federal regulations.
- Manage contractor payments globally, including invoice tracking, payment scheduling, and adherence to tax requirements.
- Maintain compliance for all statutory reporting (W-2, 1099, T4, ROE, etc.).
- Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and support audits and year-end processes.
- Work closely with the People & Culture team to maintain accurate employee data across HRIS/payroll platforms (e.g., Rippling).
- Maintain clean and organized payroll records, reconciliations, and audit trails.
- Partner with Finance leadership on payroll accounting, benefits reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
- Coordinate with People & Culture to ensure payroll changes align with onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers such as benefits brokers, tax agencies, and accounting firms.
- Provide timely, confidential support to employees regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions.
- Stay up to date on legislative changes affecting payroll across regions and recommend necessary updates.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of payroll administration experience, with required exposure to U.S. and Canadian payroll; global contractor experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards across the U.S. and Canada.
- Experience with modern payroll/HRIS systems (Rippling).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communicator who excels in cross-functional collaboration.
- PCP/CPM certification or equivalent is a plus.
