Position Title: Mid Data Engineer
Location: Remote - LATAM
What you will be doing:
You will support the migration of legacy reporting and data processes into Google BigQuery by converting T-SQL queries, building new data models, and translating business rules into SQL. You’ll troubleshoot data issues, ensure transformation accuracy, and document logic clearly, helping modernize the company’s data infrastructure.
- Convert legacy T-SQL queries into BigQuery SQL syntax.
- Build new data models in BigQuery based on existing model specifications.
- Translate manual process logic and business rules from legacy systems into SQL queries.
- Troubleshoot SQL queries to resolve missing dependencies and data quality issues.
- Document data transformations and business logic implementations.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, aggregations, and conditional logic.
- Ability to read and understand T-SQL or R code for conversion purposes.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and relational database structures.
Nice to Have
- Experience with BigQuery (can be supplemented with AI support).
- Salesforce knowledge (helpful but not critical for data modeling).

- Strong communication skills used for client-facing meetings and conversations.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proactive communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
