ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET I), you will join our Software Quality team to ensure the elite performance and reliability of LVT’s intelligent site technology. You will sit at the intersection of development and quality, contributing to automated frameworks and executing sophisticated test strategies that challenge our systems' limits. This is an opportunity for a high-potential engineer to influence the stability of a rapidly scaling AI platform while working alongside a world-class engineering team.
This role is based in-office out of our Headquarters in American Fork, Utah.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and scale automated test frameworks to ensure high-velocity software delivery without compromising quality.
Develop and execute comprehensive automated and manual test cases that validate complex system behaviors across our platform.
Collaborate deeply with developers and product managers to identify critical test requirements and edge-case scenarios early in the lifecycle.
Rigorous identification, documentation, and tracking of defects, working cross-functionally to drive rapid resolutions.
Uphold and advocate for test automation best practices, methodologies, and modern tooling within the engineering org.
Analyze complex test results and troubleshoot failures to provide actionable insights for continuous architectural improvement.
Proactively monitor emerging testing technologies to enhance our coverage of hardware-software integrations.
Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a high-growth environment, ensuring quality remains a competitive advantage.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Technical Foundation: 1–3 years of experience in coding, test planning, and debugging within a professional software development environment.
Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience with modern test frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Pytest.
Language Proficiency: A foundational understanding of Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Lifecycle Knowledge: Proven experience navigating rapid development and release cycles (CI/CD) and integrating tests into GitHub Actions.
Analytical Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who doesn't just find bugs but understands the "why" behind system failures.
Growth-Oriented: A self-motivated learner who thrives on feedback and is eager to master new technologies in the AI and IoT space.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical risks to both engineering peers and stakeholders.
Bonus Points: Experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, Appium for mobile testing, or testing integrated hardware/software systems.
