In this role, you won't just design boards; you will tackle our most complex electrical challenges, from&nbsp;high-speed routing and vision processor integration to ultra-low power optimization for our rugged, distributed hardware.</p> <p data-path-to-node="6">You will lead discrete technical efforts end-to-end, steering critical architecture decisions and driving technical execution with our <strong data-path-to-node="6" data-index-in-node="135">Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs)</strong> to ensure seamless transitions from Altium to scaled production.</p> <p data-path-to-node="7">This role is based<strong> </strong>on-site at our American Fork, Utah facility, supporting operations across both our American Fork and Spanish Fork locations. Occasional travel may be required for vendor engagements, JDM alignment, and field initiatives.</p> <h4><strong>ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></h4> <ul> <li><strong data-path-to-node="3,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">Technical Execution &amp; PCB Design:</strong> Own the design, testing, and delivery of electrical systems and components within your assigned scope. Utilize <strong data-path-to-node="3,0,0" data-index-in-node="145">Altium (or equivalent ECAD)</strong> to design complex PCBs from scratch, producing work that meets LVT’s high quality and reliability standards.</li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,1,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,1,0" data-index-in-node="0">Architecture &amp; High-Speed Design Contribution:</strong> Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing well-reasoned technical input. Implement designs aligned with team direction, specifically addressing challenges related to <strong data-path-to-node="3,1,0" data-index-in-node="236">high-speed routing (e.g., LPDDR, MIPI interfaces)</strong> and <strong data-path-to-node="3,1,0" data-index-in-node="290">vision processors/SoCs (such as Ambarella)</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,2,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,2,0" data-index-in-node="0">Low-Power Optimization:</strong> Design and optimize embedded devices for <strong data-path-to-node="3,2,0" data-index-in-node="65">ultra-low power consumption</strong>, strategically balancing hardware and firmware trade-offs to maximize efficiency.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,3,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,3,0" data-index-in-node="0">External Partner &amp; JDM Support:</strong> Assist in engagements with external vendors, suppliers, and <strong data-path-to-node="3,3,0" data-index-in-node="92">Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs)</strong>. Successfully manage the split of design ownership, coordinate on specifications, evaluate components, and ensure strict quality control during co-development.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,4,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,4,0" data-index-in-node="0">Cross-Functional Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and product teams on day-to-day execution, proactively communicating dependencies and progress to drive <strong data-path-to-node="3,4,0" data-index-in-node="176">successful product launches</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,5,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,5,0" data-index-in-node="0">Risk Awareness &amp; DFM:</strong> Identify technical risks early. Apply rigorous <strong data-path-to-node="3,5,0" data-index-in-node="69">Design for Manufacturing (DFM)</strong> principles when transitioning designs from Altium to production to minimize board spins and assembly errors.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,6,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,6,0" data-index-in-node="0">Process Adherence and Improvement:</strong> Follow established engineering standards and flag opportunities for improvement as you encounter them.</p> </li> <li> <p data-path-to-node="3,7,0"><strong data-path-to-node="3,7,0" data-index-in-node="0">Continuous Growth:</strong> Actively develop your technical skills and domain knowledge, seeking feedback and taking on stretch assignments to broaden your impact across multiple product designs.</p> </li> </ul> <h4><strong>OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE</strong></h4> <ul> <li> <p data-path-to-node="6,0,0"><strong data-path-to-node="6,0,0" data-index-in-node="0">Solid Technical Foundation:</strong> Demonstrated competency in electrical engineering with a proven track record of significantly contributing to multiple hardware designs.
