Role Description

As a Hardware Support Specialist at LVT, you will work on a small team of high-performing individuals who are experts at troubleshooting the mechanical and electrical components of our product. You will direct our network of field technicians over the phone in troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving problems. Along with the information you discover during the phone call, you will reference the previous case notes and historical data charts showing voltage, current, temperature, and relay states. In cases when you are unable to come to a resolution on your own, you will consult with our Principal Electrical Support Engineer and others to determine a resolution.

You will report to our Support Manager and be based in our office in Orem, UT. While working in the office is preferred for increased collaboration with your coworkers, we are willing to consider a hybrid work schedule for those who can prove it doesn’t have a negative impact on their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical issues using voltage, current, temperature, and relay-state charts
  • Provide phone support for field technicians and partners
  • Assist field technicians in overcoming mechanical issues during an installation or repair
  • Provide a detailed report of replacement parts needed for repairs
  • Document all interactions with field technicians accurately and completely
  • Maximize your effectiveness by resolving a high percentage of incoming requests, only escalating when necessary

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Able to use a multimeter to troubleshoot a low-voltage DC system
  • Experience assembling or repairing mechanical and electrical components
  • Experience and desire to research and resolve technical issues utilizing manuals or other training materials
  • Be able to determine definitively the difference between a component or configuration issue
  • Write and speak English in a professional manner and collaborate well with others
