With over 30,000 customers, including a third of Fortune 500 companies, Tempo is trusted by organizations across the globe to make their workflows work better.

We create a suite of integrated solutions for time management, resource planning, budget management, roadmapping, program management, reporting and more. We create the tech that enables the modern team to deliver – for every step from first vision to value.

Since our beginning in 2007 as a project to make a time-tracking tool to help a client – Tempo has expanded to become the #1 time management add-on for Jira, and we have developed and acquired a multitude of tools to become one of the most trusted names in the Atlassian ecosystem.

We want everyone to work better – but we also want to be a tech company with a heart. Join us as we continuously innovate our award-winning products, create new solutions, and help the world work smarter, not harder.

About the role:

Tempo’s Atlassian Marketplace business is part of the foundation of our company. It is trusted by tens of thousands of teams and generates significant, durable revenue at scale.

We are seeking a VP of Product to own and scale this business. This is a scale, optimization, and strategic control role.

You will be responsible for driving the next phase of growth for our Marketplace portfolio by:

  • Expanding customers from single-product usage to multi-module adoption

  • Deepening our position as the system of record for execution data inside Jira

  • Navigating Atlassian’s evolving platform strategy while maintaining Tempo’s relevance and differentiation

  • Acting as the bridge between execution (TEA) and intelligence (Loop)

  • Potentially building new marketplace apps to fill gaps

This role owns a $200M+ ARR growth opportunity, not through new products alone, but through maximizing the value of what we already have

What You’ll Do:

Own the TEA Business (Revenue + Growth)

  • Drive cross-module adoption (1.2 → 2+ products per customer)

  • Define packaging, pricing, and bundling strategies to increase ARR

  • Partner with GTM to scale expansion within the existing install base

Establish Execution Data as the Moat

  • Ensure Tempo owns the most complete, trusted dataset for:

    • Time

    • Capacity

    • Structure (hierarchy)

    • Financial actuals

    • Analytics

  • Drive product decisions that improve data quality, depth, and connectivity

Navigate Atlassian as Platform + Competitor

  • Develop a clear strategy for co-existing with:

    • Jira Plans

    • Atlassian Focus

    • Rovo AI

    • Teamwork Graph

  • Make deliberate tradeoffs on where to compete vs. where to integrate

  • Ensure Tempo remains essential, even as Atlassian expands its native capabilities

Drive Product Focus and Discipline

  • Maintain clarity on what TEA is—and is not:

    • TEA = execution data layer

    • NOT an intelligence layer (that belongs in Loop)

  • Prevent roadmap drift into areas that dilute strategic positioning

Bridge TEA to Loop

  • Ensure TEA acts as a primary signal source for Loop

    • Drive product decisions that increase:

    • Data usability

    • Signal quality

    • Customer readiness to adopt Loop

  • Partner closely with the Loop product leader to define the upgrade path

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team

  • Develop strong product leaders who can own modules independently

  • Create a culture of:

    • Accountability

    • Focus

    • Commercial thinking (not just feature delivery)

  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment across Product, GTM, and Engineering

Who You Are:

Proven Operator at Scale

  • 12+ years in Product Management, including VP/Sr Director roles

  • Experience owning a scaled B2B SaaS product with meaningful ARR

  • Adopted or familiar with AI driven product processes

Commercially Driven

  • Strong instincts in:

    • Packaging and pricing

    • Expansion strategy

    • Monetization of installed base

    • Understands how to turn product decisions into revenue outcomes

Platform + Ecosystem Fluent

  • Experience building within or alongside major platforms (e.g., Atlassian, Salesforce, Microsoft)

Understands how to win inside someone else’s ecosystem

Disciplined Product Thinker

  • Can maintain focus and avoid “feature creep”

  • Makes clear strategic tradeoffs

  • Knows when not to build

  • AI change manager

Strong People Leader

  • Builds trust across teams and functions

  • Delegates effectively and develops leaders

  • Creates clarity and alignment, not confusion

  • Create opportunity for team to excel and advance

What Success Looks Like:

  • Customers adopt 2+ Tempo modules at a significantly higher rate

  • TEA becomes the undisputed execution data layer inside Jira

  • Clear separation is maintained:

  • TEA = data

  • Loop = intelligence

TEA customers convert into Loop pipeline and early adopters

Tempo maintains strong positioning despite Atlassian’s expansion
