Job Description:

Senior Product Managers at Workhuman operate at the intersection of strategy and execution to prioritize and deliver high-value product features to help achieve established OKRs. The Senior Product Manager is a seasoned professional with deep expertise in product management. They possess a comprehensive understanding of market trends, customer needs, and business objectives. They lead the product strategy, collaborate with stakeholders, and make critical decisions to guide the product's success. Senior Product Managers also provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members whilst driving innovation within the organization. The role will interface at many levels and with various cross-functional teams across the company including engineering, design, and marketing, to ensure the product's success in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the trusted owner of a key area of product functionality within the company, accountable for business outcomes of the area you own
  • Identify opportunities to deliver value and positive outcomes to end-users and customers via product features
  • Consistently use operational and user research data to directly inform strategy and execution of product vision
  • Partner with the Director of Product Management in understanding the high-level opportunities on the product backlog that, when priortiized, deliver the most impactful and valuable features aligned with strategic goals
  • Present and maintain a roadmap distilling initiatives down into epic-level increments for aligned delivery team(s), proving lineage and clarity from OKRs down to sprint goals
  • Build the trust, respect and confidence with the extended technical team in terms of being able to articulate the ‘WHY’ behind the product backlog and showing them the vision
  • Clearly articulate and manage product requirements, through writing, breaking down and refining epics and user stories and acceptance criteria. Have a clear focus on always delivering business value
  • Support the UX team to arrive at prototypes/mock-ups that will drive the sprint execution
  • Enable the delivery team during each sprint to be successful. Clarify requirements, make priority calls, review test plans and review development work and participate in scrum rituals
  • Drive decision making on solution options and trade-offs to consider in order to meet business needs
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders on product status, scope changes and risks
  • Support the Director of Product Management and Product Marketing team in incorporating feedback and input from customers, partners, and in-house teams into product strategy and find innovative ways to expand product market reach

Knowledge/Experience

  • 7+ years working as a Product Manager/Owner in an Agile/Scrum product development environment
  • Proven track-record of product innovation changing the dynamics of an existing or emerging market
  • SaaS delivery model experience is a must-have, in either B2B or B2C environments
  • Proven experience developing plans by working from high-level strategic direction
  • Must have demonstrated experience in supporting product initiatives that are large scale in terms of customer base, complexity of problems solved, scope of functionality offered, etc.
  • Expertise in analyzing product data and synthesizing product plans based on that data
  • Must have a strong bias for action i.e. you are pro-active in figuring out what problems to tackle and then execute on solving them

Skills/Competencies

  • Adept at engaging with end users, stakeholders, and partners in order to empathise with their needs, and understand their goals
  • Confident professional taking initiative and making decisions based on sound judgment as well as investigation; you can be relied on to see objectives through to completion
  • Comfortable presenting and demonstrating to an executive-level audience
  • Inclusive collaborator who works well with technical and non-technical people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and persuade peers and leadership on your ideas and vision for the product
  • Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical people.
  • Strong leadership qualities with ability to communicate product vision and decisions across geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience performing market and competitive analysis

Qualifications

  • 7+ Years of experience in a Product Management role
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information technology or equivalent work experience is preferred
