The skills you will bring:

As a Principal Engineer at Workhuman, you will:

• Drive Technical Excellence: Leverage your proven expertise and thought Leadership to ensure our eCommerce platform remains scalable, available, efficient, and provides a frictionless shopping experience.

• Foster Creativity: Utilize your creative skills to blend technical knowledge with business acumen and strategic vision, ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of the eCommerce industry. You'll be empowered to make recommendations, ensuring that our technical solutions align seamlessly with our strategic goals.

• Champion Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating technical risks will be part of your role. Your foresight in recognizing potential pitfalls and devising effective strategies will be integral to our success.

• Cultivate Growth and Trust: Beyond technical prowess, you'll be instrumental in building a culture of trust and psychological safety. Your role will involve mentoring engineers and fostering their professional growth.

• Architectural Vision and Innovation: With a keen eye on all the technologies we use, you'll help shape our architectural strategy. Your role involves not just maintaining our current systems but also driving innovation and experimenting with new approaches.

Achievements:

• Agile Development Mastery: Proven experience in leading squads through the agile software development of scalable, secure, client-facing applications and services with a strong background in Java 17 and Relational Databases.

• AWS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with some of the following AWS services - ECS Fargate, ECR, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, MSK, IAM, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy & Opensearch

• Innovation: History of introducing and adopting new development, testing, CI/CD Pipelines, automation frameworks and tools to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Problem-Solving Agility: Ability to swiftly dissect complex technical problems and find solutions that align with business and customer needs.

• Technology Evangelism: Aptitude for embracing and explaining new technologies to diverse audiences. You communicate with others across the business to collaborate and align on key topics and business strategy, to ensure our teams are always working toward shared goals.

• Ideally, you will have 10+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Principal. However, equivalent skills, as well as the relevance of your experience and notable achievements, will also be taken into consideration.

• Experience in eCommerce architecture would be an advantage.
