Job Description:

This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in our Dublin office at least two times per week.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer will join a team that are developing a world class ECommerce platform and act as a subject matter expert, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience to support our customers, products and back-office teams. You will have the freedom to partner with the Engineering and Product Leadership to design and deliver innovations to solve unique challenges and help us to create solutions to make work more human. The results you deliver are linked to our companies' strategic objectives.

You will be joining a collaborative agile team which is focused on developing the technical capabilities of the Ecommerce Platform which supports our vast assortment of Merchandise Products, Gift cards and Experiences on the Store which is used by our global Customer base.

Tech stack: Java 17, Spring, Webservices/API, Apache Camel, ActiveMQ, AWS, Oracle, NoSQL DB, PL/SQL, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Git, Docker/Containerization, Enterprise Integration Patterns, Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, KIE KB & Syndigo PIM.

What we can offer you:

  • You will have an informed view of the technologies we use across our offerings and take part in shaping how they evolve.

  • You will work with a distributed development team continuously delivering solutions that will enhance our ECommerce platform capabilities.

  • You will partner with our Product and Engineering Leadership to take ideas from design, implementation and through to delivery to Production.

  • You will work with our DevOps and Architecture teams to move to a continuous deployment model.

The skills you will bring:

  • You should have 5+ years working on application design and development in enterprise applications with the following: Java, OOP, Spring, Webservices/API development, Apache Camel/Apache Kafka leveraging AWS infrastructure.

  • You have extensive Database application development experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.

  • You have proven experience using Git or other version control tools.

  • You have an agile mindset with proven track record of delivering high quality code to Production through CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with automated unit and integration testing would be advantageous.

  • You have a deep understanding of how coding standards work and advocate for well-written, efficient, modular, and maintainable code.

  • You will act as a subject matter expert for the ECommerce Platform team, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience to shape services to solve customer and supplier related problems.

  • You will have the ability to mentor small squads and be able to work independently.

  • You will have a passion for learning and introducing new technologies

  • You like to collaborate openly with the team on shared items of work and communicate well in a team-oriented environment across different time zones.

  • You share your knowledge and enjoy mentoring other team members.

  • You will contribute to sprint planning & backlog refinement sessions, daily stand-ups and retrospectives with our technology teams (Developers, Automated QA & Product Owner)
