Job Description:

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a well-established, collaborative team of Architects focused on developing a world class data platform, acting as a subject matter expert, leveraging your extensive knowledge and experience to be a technical thought leader for Data, database systems and how information is collected, collated and consumed through the company. You’ll have the freedom to come up with innovative solutions to unique challenges and help us use data to make work more human. The results you deliver are directly linked to our company's strategic objectives.

  • An opportunity to lead in building multi-year data platform architecture/ technology roadmap for the expansion of the Workhuman SaaS product

  • An opportunity to lead architectural tasks and decisions across the current and future Workhuman data platform software

  • An opportunity to perform design reviews of solutions to ensure the design aligns and supports the specified architecture

  • An opportunity to create, document, and communicate the integration approach of all the components of the data platform architecture

  • An opportunity to be the Technical Product Owner in partnership with Business Partners, Product Strategist, Product Owners, Principal Engineer, Architects, Cloud Team and DBA to define the technical data platform strategy for our data driven products and applications.

  • An opportunity to define data architecture patterns for the requirements of the Product, IQ, Finance, Operations, Sales, Security & Audit business areas.

  • An opportunity to work with IQ teams to build advanced capabilities like customer profiling thereby enabling customer retention & providing personalised services.

  • An opportunity to provide leadership and guidance to the engineering teams for successful product feature implementation on the data platform. Involve in influencing the direction of our strategy, designing solutions that will support Workhuman data platform.

  • An opportunity to partner with AWS to bring in the best external knowledge to complement our internal expertise.

  • An opportunity to proactively identify and help to refocus the team's efforts when projects are off-course or are not technically feasible and results are not moving the needle for our business/ team goals or serving the needs of customers in a meaningful way.

The skills you bring:

  • Business technology strategy – ability to develop and deliver business strategy through technology.

  • Relationship building – ability to establish trust at all levels of the business. Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders including engineers from other teams, Product Managers, business users.

  • Communication – strong written and verbal communication needed. Ability to change the message to suit different audiences.

  • Strategic Thinking - Ability to think holistically, design and deliver Configurable Components that serve multiple purposes throughout the organization.

  • Analysis – the ability to analyse and document complex multi layered technology and business processes and architectures.

  • Delivery/Execution – Ability to deliver a quality product/service on time and in a product architecture.


  • You have experience in architecting, designing and developing large scale data solutions.

  • You have experience in leading teams resulting in the successful deployment of applications built on data platforms.

  • You have experience in leading teams resulting in the successful deployment of applications built on data platforms.

  • You communicate easily with others across the business domain to influence, collaborate and align on key topics and business strategy, and to ensure our teams are always working toward shared goals.

  • You listen attentively and actively, building on others' opinions, avoiding early judgements, and using radical candor when expressing your opinion.

  • You have expertise in AWS Data technology Stack in building Data Lake solutions (AWS EC2, S3, Glue, Data Pipeline, DMS, EMR, Step, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, Quicksight, etc…)You have expertise in Relational/Non-Relational Database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, HDFS, MongoDB)
