Job Description:

This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in our Dublin office at least two times per week.

The Opportunity

Our Recognition & Celebrations team is at the heart of how Workhuman helps our customers build and sustain cultures of gratitude. The team comprises multiple squads dedicated to designing and delivering innovative solutions that enable our customers to spread a culture of recognition and celebration within their workplaces.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help build a new squad to join us in expanding and improving our Recognition & Celebrations solutions. You will join a group of peers with high levels of trust and respect, collaborating closely to build the best software we can, given the constraints we have. We succeed together, so your peers will always have your back. This is grown-up software engineering!

The skills you bring:

  • You have detailed knowledge of developing web applications and are comfortable with leading code reviews, POC builds etc.

  • You will Participate in or drive key technical and design discussions with the team.

  • Communication & Influencing - You have excellent communication skills, which you use to create a collaborative high trust environment where the expression of diverse ideas and opinions is valued

  • Thinking Strategically – You help your team understand, align and deliver to strategic goals

  • Agile mindset – You establish and embed practices to deliver products in an agile way, coaching individuals and teams using agile & lean values & principles

  • Leading people - You have experience in recruiting and evolving existing teams into high performing, collaborative teams with high trust, where people can do their best work

  • Problem solving - You can analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify key issues and act decisively and promptly

  • Adaptability/Resilience - You have the ability and flexibility to embrace change and work with ambiguity, supporting others through the change process

  • Domain Expertise – If you have experience working on a SAAS cloud based administrative tool that would be an advantage. Knowledge of Java & REACT or similar would be an advantage

Achievements:

  • You have experience leading a team of engineers, enabling them to achieve key business results through their design and software development activities in an agile development environment

  • You have confidently influenced and guided the product strategy and execution of one or more teams in your area across multiple projects or workstreams on six-to-twelve-month time horizons

  • You have guided your teams in proactively driving impactful outcomes in the face of significant organisational and technical ambiguity and change

  • You have lead a product delivery team throughout the entire end to end product development life cycle

  • You cultivate an environment of accountability, trust and psychological safety where people are able to do their best work.

  • You have built world class teams and a culture for scale through hiring, developing and retaining talent.

  • You have led and contributed to cross cutting initiatives that drive continuous improvement across Engineering.

  • You have driven the full talent lifecycle for your team championing a culture of growth and development through extensive coaching
