We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Independent Services team at Workhuman, which is focused on our transition to an architecture based on microservices paradigms.

Our team’s mission is to be a hands-on partner with stream-aligned Product Engineering teams as they evolve their domain towards a services-based architecture and to be a source of subject matter expertise for the wider Technology organisation.

Tech stack: Java 8 and 17, Python, Spring, RESTful APIs, Apache Camel, ActiveMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS, Terraform, Oracle DB, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Gitlab CI/CD, Git, Docker/Containerization.

The skills you will bring:

• You have 3+ years working in enterprise applications development with the following: Java, Spring, microservices, SQL

• You have hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. ECS, ECR, Lambda functions, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, AWS Batch, Cloudwatch...)

• You are familiar with RESTful as an API design pattern

• You have Database application development experience with SQL or NoSQL databases

• You understand and have implemented the most appropriate forms of automated test coverage for different scenarios

• You develop in accordance with best software engineering and UX practice, helping to define development standards for the team.

• Problem solving is a strength of yours. You bring the ability to interpret data and business strategy, understanding constraints and trade-offs.

• You are a skilled communicator who can write and speak with clarity, tailoring your message to the audience, and incorporating active listening skills to understand others.

• You have experience in implementing changes within components, modules, services, and codebases that require a deep level of domain knowledge

• You have proven to be capable in delivering quality solutions in a fast-moving business environment
