Role Summary

The Director of Product Engineering Operations is key member of the Product Engineering leadership for Workhuman. In this role, you will be responsible for the transformation of the department into the AI era and continuous operational improvement of the entire Product Engineering organization and more broadly Workhuman’s ability to produce world class solutions for our customers. A key focus of your role would be to pave the way for the product engineering department to become a worldwide software engineering pioneer department in the era of Artificial Intelligence and design and shape our future way of operating.

Reporting to the Vice President of Product Engineering, working with the Product Engineering leadership team, you will lead cross-group operational initiatives, processes and practices to improve the overalldepartment operational KPIs and strive for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (the value you will deliver)

  • You will own and facitilate the department strategic transformation into becoming an AI-First department.
  • You will lead and define the department journey to become a metrics based organization, where data and insights are at the core of our decision making process.
  • You will create and manage the internal processes required to assess and resolve product performance incidents ,events, outages.
  • You will work closely with the VP of Product Engineering to support and lead any department level project and initiative.
  • You will work closely with your colleagues to shape the product engineering delivery processess from ideation to production deployment with the goal to significantly reduce time to market and improve innovation culture.
  • You will own and track department level operational KPIs and work continuously to embed and improve the metrics for these KPIs.
  • You will facilitate the creation, implementation and governance of a product planning framework that continues the market leadership established in the current Workhuman products and creates an innovation culture for the Workhuman Product organization.
  • You will work closely with external operational leaders which are collaborating with the product engineering to introduce company-wide operational excellence.
  • You will coordinate with Product Management, Technology and Business leadership to ensure expected delivery of the prioritized technology roadmap.
  • You will continue to build on the current agile culture improving visibility and transparency throughout the Product Engineering organization.
  • You will relentlessly focus on the engineering team engagement to improve productivity, shorten time to market and reduce attrition.


  • At least 10+ years experience in software engineering industry.
  • At least 5+ Years in Operational leadership role in large product engineering organizations.
  • You have experience in Product Engineering in the enterprise Software-as-a-Service and cloud technologies.
  • You have experience in Agile software development practices and software development lifecycle (SDLC) management
  • A strong understanding and track record of how to build and drive a thriving innovation and quality focused software development culture, with a track record of managing leaders and engineers to do their best work.
  • A passion and love for operational excellence and leading changes within organizations.

  • BS in Computer Science or related area or relevant experience
  • MBA is Preferred
