Job Description:

This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in our Dublin office at least two times per week.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in expanding and improving our Engagement Channel solutions. We are a group of peers with high levels of trust and respect who collaborate closely to build the best software we can, given the constraints we have. This team is at the heart of how Workhuman helps our customers build and sustain cultures of gratitude. These teams design and deliver innovative solutions that enable our customers to spread a culture of recognition and celebration within their workplaces.

Tech stack: Java 8, Python, Spring, RESTful webservices, ActiveMQ/Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, API, Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL DB, PL/SQL, JMeter, Jenkins, Sonar, Maven, Git, Docker/Containerization, JS and React based frameworks.

The skills you will bring:

  • Ideally, 6+ years of back-end development experience.
  • You have experience developing web-based applications at the enterprise level
  • Problem solving is a strength of yours. You bring the ability to interpret data and business strategy, understanding constraints and trade-offs.
  • You have experience in mentoring other team members about best practices, latest updates and version, and fostering consistent coding styles and guidelines
  • You have helped introduce new dev/test/automation frameworks, languages, tools and have drove adoption where suitable
  • Experience of Java RESTful as an API design
  • Experience with AWS and Cloud-first applications is a plus.
  • Experience with React or other Front-end frameworks is advantageous.

  • You have lead system level designs that serve as definitive examples for other engineers (transferred from the skills you will bring)
  • You have proven to be capable in delivering quality solutions in a fast-moving business environment
  • You have collaborated openly on shared items of work and communicated well in a team-oriented environment across locations.
  • You have demonstrated a growth mindset with a continuous focus on improving yourself and the way work gets done within your sphere of influence.
