Location: Chicago, New Orleans, or US Remote (EST/CST preferred)

Overview:

Copado is the leader in AI-native DevOps for Salesforce and enterprise cloud teams. As we build Omni, our next-generation unified DevOps experience, we are seeking a Senior UX Designer who can turn complexity into clarity and bring AI-powered workflows to life. In this role, you will translate Copado’s AI, Org Intelligence, and AgentOps capabilities into intuitive, guided experiences that drive adoption, velocity, and customer success for mid-market teams.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and our Experience Architect to design seamless, consistent journeys across Plan → Build → Test → Release. This is a high-impact role shaping the foundation of Copado’s AI-native DevOps platform.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Shape the Omni Product Experience

End-to-End Experience Design: Create the full information architecture, flows, wireframes, and prototypes for Omni’s core modules (Plan, Build, Test, Release, Pipelines, Workspaces).
AI-Native UX: Embed Org Intelligence insights, AI suggestions, agentic automation steps, and contextual guidance into workflows without overwhelming users.
Design Strategy Alignment: Translate product strategy into coherent, intuitive design direction that supports Copado’s broader AI-native vision.
Complex Workflow Simplification: Turn branching, dependent, dynamic DevOps workflows into simple, predictable, user-friendly journeys.

2. Deliver Scalable, High-Quality UX at Velocity

Design-to-Engineering Execution: Produce unambiguous, component-ready specifications that engineering can implement with fidelity.
Reusable Patterns & Components: Work with the Experience Architect to evolve a unified design system and standard interaction patterns across all modules.
Quality & Speed: Deliver new flows within two weeks on average, ensuring design reviews are efficient and frictionless.
Implementation Metrics: Drive ≥80% engineering implementation fidelity on first pass and reduce design ambiguity as a blocker.

3. User Insight, Validation & Lifecycle Iteration

User Research: Conduct interviews, prototype tests, surveys, and guided walkthroughs to validate flows and identify usability gaps.
Continuous Iteration: Run 2–3 user validation cycles per month, using behavioral data, funnel metrics, and UX telemetry to refine designs.
Usability Improvement: Drive measurable improvements to onboarding speed, workflow completion rates, and usability task success (85%+ at launch).
Lifecycle Ownership: Support feature development from concept → prototypes → acceptance criteria → launch → post-release refinement.

4. Champion Clarity, Consistency & Design Excellence

System-Level Thinking: Ensure Omni’s navigation, layout, vocabulary, and patterns are consistent across all surfaces.
Quality Bar Setting: Partner with design leadership to uphold best practices in IA, interaction design, and accessibility.
Experience Architecture Partnership: Align early and often with the Experience Architect to reduce fragmentation and redesign churn.
Cross-Functional Enablement: Provide clear rationale, documentation, and guidance during grooming, sprint planning, and QA.

5. Cross-Functional Partnership & Stakeholder Collaboration

PM Collaboration: Act as the primary design partner to Omni PMs, supporting requirement definition, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.
Engineering Partnership: Work closely with developers during handoff, refinement, and testing to ensure accurate implementation.
Data & Insights Alignment: Incorporate analytics, funnels, and user telemetry into design decisions.
Internal Advocacy: Communicate design decisions, progress, and insights to cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, PM, architecture, leadership).

Qualifications:

  • 5–8+ years of UX/product design experience in SaaS, workflow, or platform-level applications.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design for complex or multi-step workflows.

  • Expertise in interaction design, prototyping, IA, and user research.

  • Experience with Figma, component-driven systems, and modern prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude Code, generative design tools).

  • Experience designing AI-powered or AI-assisted workflows strongly preferred.

  • Strong systems-thinking and ability to build reusable frameworks and patterns.

  • Proven ability to take ambiguous requirements and produce crisp, build-ready specs.

  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in agile environments.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to articulate design rationale clearly.

  • Portfolio required showcasing real shipped products, not conceptual student work.

Key Competencies:

Customer Obsession: Designs directly for user outcomes; validates early and often.
Strategic Thinking: Connects design decisions to product vision and business impact.
Systems & Component Thinking: Designs for scale, consistency, and reusability.
Collaboration: Works seamlessly with PM, engineering, data, and design peers.
AI-Native UX Thinking: Integrates intelligent guidance and agentic behaviors thoughtfully.
Problem Solving: Brings clarity to ambiguous or undefined problems.
Agility: Moves quickly with a bias for action while maintaining high quality.
